Initial Consultation and Selection of Investment Option

Immediate

Applicants begin by consulting with an accredited agent to assess eligibility and review the investment options. During this stage, the required documents are gathered, and a pre-application assessment is conducted.

Application Submission and Due Diligence

2-3 months

Once all documents are prepared, the application is formally submitted to the Community Malta Agency. A four-tier due diligence process begins, where thorough background checks are conducted to ensure the applicant meets the necessary legal and financial criteria.

Residency Requirement

3-4 months

Applicants are required to hold residency in Malta for either 36 months (standard process) or, in exceptional cases, 12 months. During this time, the applicant is expected to establish a genuine link to the country.

Investment Commitment

Immediate

Once an applicant receives approval in principle, they must meet the investment requirements, which include a contribution to the National Development Fund (€600,000 for the 3-year residency route or €750,000 for the 1-year route), a real estate investment of at least €700,000 or a rental commitment of €16,000 per year for five years, and a minimum donation of €10,000 to a Maltese-registered NGO.

Final Approval and Oath of Allegiance

2-4 weeks

Once all investments are completed and verified, the applicant is invited to take the Oath of Allegiance in Malta. After this step, the individual is granted citizenship, and a certificate of naturalization is issued.

Passport Issuance

1-2 weeks

Following the approval and completion of all formalities, the Maltese passport is issued, granting the individual full citizenship rights.

Post-Approval Support

FNDCS Immigration continues to provide support to clients even after they have obtained citizenship. This may include assistance with passport renewal, citizenship-related inquiries, and ongoing advisory services.

Real Estate in Malta

Real estate investment is a key component of Malta's Citizenship by Investment (CBI) program, offering applicants the opportunity to invest in the country's thriving property market while securing citizenship. Applicants must either purchase property with a minimum value of €700,000 or commit to renting a property with an annual lease of at least €16,000 for a five-year period. Malta’s real estate market offers a range of high-quality properties, from modern apartments to luxury villas, situated in prime locations. This investment not only satisfies the program’s requirements but also provides a stable, long-term asset in a country with a growing economy and high demand for property.
